    Is Patriotism ever in Doubt?

As I was traveling from Grand Rapid, Michigan to Chicago on 160W, I noticed off in distance, an American Flag flying at half-staff on side of the highway half a mile before the 32d Ave and Hudsonville exit in Ottawa County.

I was wondering what the flag is doing there but never doubted the patriotism shown by an unknown citizen. But of course, one thing left me wondering about hoisting of the flag; if in-fact, the proper flag etiquette may have been ignored?

Indeed, the Flag belongs to the people and the country. But I doubt when I see leaders in government wearing US flag lapels and who treat world war just as another mega business and only answer to international power brokers and corporate lobbyists. Of course, even when they leave government, some of them tend to join think tanks, lobbyists groups or corrupt corporations and become true supporters of war mongers and architects of future world conflicts and wars which usually have nothing to do with self-defense of the country or even the world peace.

In my opinion, true patriotism shall be defined by our unconditional love free of hate, prejudice and nepotism to help build a stronger country without pushing rest of the world in great danger of unjust wars and work towards long lasting global peace through honest friendship and trust.
