47 Ronin I'd Be A Samurai With You! - Movie Review

I enjoyed the new fantasy action film 47 Ronin that is a fun romp through an imaginative Japan.  It's not the usual action film starring 70 year old men, based on a video or board game or a remake of a beloved movie from the 80s.  Instead this feels like an import with a cast and story with a different viewpoint.  I'm giving 47 Ronin a solid B that is fun for adults, a little slow for small kids but is visually gorgeous with a tale that will keep you entertained.  It's not the film from the commercials since the core is a film about love and acceptance but it's worth seeing in theaters.

    47 Ronin | ‎PG-13‎ | ‎2hr 7min‎

Directed by Carl Rinsch. With Keanu Reeves, Hiroyuki Sanada, Kô Shibasaki & Tadanobu Asano

After a treacherous warlord kills their master and banishes their kind, 47 leaderless samurai vow to seek vengeance and restore honor to their people. Driven from their homes and dispersed across the land, this band of Ronin must seek the help of Kai -a half-breed they once rejected-as they fight their way across a savage world of mythic beasts, shape-shifting witchcraft and wondrous terrors. As this exiled, enslaved outcast becomes their most deadly weapon, he will transform into the hero who inspires this band of outnumbered rebels to seize eternity.
