It amazes me that people still compare pot to other drugs, it is completely the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I smoked pot from age 11 to age 23 on almost a daily basis. I believe if it had been legal I would have had a much harder time getting my hands on it, just like alcohol was always harder to get than weed, crystal, cocaine, and pills. The thing that people often don't think about is that with it being illegal, you must go to a drug dealer to get your weed. Those drug dealers just want to make more money so a lot of times they will move on to getting rid of harder drugs for a bigger payout. Guess who they will sell too. Guess who they'll try to get hooked on the harder drugs. The stupid pot smoking kid who doesn't know better, or doesn't realize how much the hard drugs will ruin their lives. Think of it this way, when you go to the liquor store to buy booze, the guy at the counter will 99.9% of the time never say "hey I just got a bunch of crystal, you want to try some?". This reason alone is what makes complete legalization of marijuana obvious. Nobody should be thrown in jail for smoking weed as well, they are not hurting anybody but themselves. Its not like hard drugs where if you run out, you will without a problem run out and steal from someone or hurt somebody just to get money for it. Yes, some people will get addicted to it. But those people more than likely have addictive personalities and would get addicted to saying the alphabet if they said it enough times. I had to quit smoking so that I could keep my job but if it were completely legal I would happily smoke a few hits after work. Its more relaxing than beer and more controllable than beer could ever be. Guy comes home from the bar after work, wife says one little thing and he freaks out (only because he is drunk, he would have never done that sober) and ends up in jail. Guy comes home and smokes a bowl, wife says something, guy laughs about it or ignores it. (if he still freaks out its because he's an angry prick). It would never happen because he was stoned. Anyway off topic... Legal weed keeps the money out of the black market, and provides tax money to the United States. Also, trust me, if you cant find weed somewhere, your an idiot. Its already everywhere, in every town, city, county, state. What's the point in keeping it illegal, its easier to get weed than it is to get good strawberries sometimes. To completely answer your question, I would happily buy legal weed, just so I could pay taxes on it and keep money moving to the government in order to keep them happy.
