I have smoked pot off and on since I was 14 years old. I am now 56. For me, it is an alternative to alcohol. I have been made to feel like a criminal for most of my adult life by friends who see nothing wrong with drinking and driving. I have said time and time again--I would rather be on the road with someone who just smoked a joint, than someone with a belly full of Captain Morgan. I have never been so high that I could not operate a vehicle safely. I am a college graduate and am very successful at my career. No one in my family knows that I smoke pot--they would think that I'm a criminal. While drunken driving accidents are at an all time high, I have never read about an accident that occurred while the driver was driving under the influence of Marijuana. It's time to legalize such a benign drug and start being much tougher on those who drive while drunk.
