Street Event in Dhading Bensi ─ The Importance of Computer Education
It comes to be the sixth year for the international voluntary group to teach computer classes to students in Dhading. Starting from July 22nd, 8 voluntary students hold a 14-day computer camp in CFO village, Sankosh to teach 40 students from 5 public schools(PASHUPATI,SANKOSH,PANDITCHAUR,MANARUPEE,PANCHAKANYA)about basic computer skills. On 5 Aug, closing ceremony of computer camp, Yuan Ze University students will donate 7 used desktops,12 laptops, 1 printer and 1 scanner to Ecological Protection Forum (EPF-NEPAL) to build the computer lab in CFO Children`s Village. Students from 4 schools including CFO, NHSS, PANDICHAUR, PASHUPATI and SUNGABHA, automatically gather into a rally group to promote the importance of computer education. Students organized this street event by themselves.
Mr. Ramesh Dhamala, the founder and chair-man of CFO NEPAL, said, “For the future of children and development of Nepal children’s future, CFO Nepal has coordinated with international volunteer group from Yuen Ze University, Taiwan since 6 years. Every year, about 10 voluntary students come to Nepal to give computer education and donate several computer facilities.”
Mr. Mark Su, the leader of 6th Yuen Ze University international volunteer group, also told that Taiwan is famous for its high technology industry. To the global communication and the integration of information, computer is indispensable and is an important tool. Through the construction of computer facility skill training, we hope to enforce the connection between two countries.
Regarding to education in Nepal, computer part is weak. Therefore, students who study in rural areas, the donation of computer facilities and skill-training given by Taiwanese students are undoubtedly a big blessing. Through this awareness compaign, we hope it can raise the attention from local people and students about the importance of computer education.
