This iReport is part of an assignment:
Not just a Gale!
At first i thought it was going to be just a bit of heavy rain like we usually get at this time of year but when I saw the waves at Bexhill on Sea, I grabbed my camera to capture the weather conditions.
The first day i took photos of the waves and then it started to rain a bit too heavily and the wind was playing havoc with keeping the camera straight so I decided to take the train into Hastings...not a great choice!
I met up with my mum and we literally flew with wind behind us through town and took shelter in a shop doorway because mum was terrified of being lifted off her feet, even if we were arm in arm. The trains home were cancelled that evening too because trees had fallen onto both lines.
The day after the storm which i can literally compare to HURRICANE FORCE winds that I experienced first hand in Mexico, i went out early to capture the storm damage and I must say, a few tiles fallen from a roof, a shop window blown in and a flag pole ripped in two, really shocked me until I saw the devastation all around Britain and I realized in an instant how lucky we had been.
