This iReport is part of an assignment:
Does marijuana help you?
Imagine my surprise after trying it in back in college and realizing how innocent and actually beneficial it can be. I smoked it for the first time and promptly fell asleep. This was unheard of for me, because I've had pretty severe insomnia for a long time. Anyway, I began smoking a bowl about 30 minutes before bed every night, which has greatly increased my health since I'm sleeping soundly for at least 8 hours a night now.
Now to answer the question: would I buy retail pot for recreational use? Yes! Aside from the health benefits, it's a much better way to unwind than alcohol is. I also like that 1) NO hangovers 2) I don't lose a shred of my dignity like with alcohol (I've had some pretty embarrassing "black outs") 3) whereas being drunk makes you feel sloppy of sorts, being high makes your mind feel crisp and you see everything from a different perspective 4) There's a creativity that the weed brings out. I'm a harpist and I've written some rather nice music during some of my recreational sessions.
So long story short: don't believe any of the lies about marijuana, especially the laziness stereotype. It's worth pointing out that I graduated cum laude with an accounting degree and have a pretty successful career, play several instruments, am well-read, and pretty informed when it comes to current events. I just like to relax with that ganja:) I barely drink alcohol anymore, it's just not as enjoyable (it's also expensive by comparison!)
