This iReport is part of an assignment:
    Does marijuana help you?

    More from desisbuddy

    Pot and our Society

As a former law enforcement officer, and lifelong public servant, I have witnessed - first-hand - the ills and negatives of the use of marijuana. Whether misconduct as a pedestrian, or as an operator of a motor vehicle, or as a criminal involved in theft, burglary, et al, I know the negative impact of this drug on society.

I have not used marijuana - or any mood/mind-altering drug - because I am not a weak person with a drive or desire to escape from life. Rather, I focus on maintaining forward-thinking and personal/professional growth.

People use drugs for many reasons - each user having their own cluster of reasons. It's a pity they choose to put crap up their noses, in their lungs, in their veins, et al. There's so much life to live, and it can be lived and enjoyed sober!

With legalized marijuana expanding in our country, how far are we from legalizing other drugs? The toothpaste in now out of the tube!
