CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Since December 23 dpkronmiller has been trying to sign up for insurance through the HealthCare.gov site. He's tried multiple times to enroll, but has faced technical issues with the website. 'I was unable to buy insurance, and could only get to the application stage,' he explained. He reached out to a customer service representative who instructed him to redo his application, but now his family will be insured starting February. Meaning, they will be uninsured for the month of January. He says he is incredibly disappointed with the site, and explains that he left is old insurance in order to be a part of the Affordable Care Act. But now it seems that they will be uninsured for a whole month until the site's issues are resolved.

Tried again and still not covered. Was told to fix the glitch we were experiencing to sign in and out several times in a row or to withdrawal our application and start again - we did the latter (we had essentially tried the former several times already). We withdrew our application and resubmitted but the website now says we can only be covered for February 1st.

We tried in good faith to sign up on time - this week was the first week we've had the time to do so as we've had a newborn and I've been swamped with work. And we tried to meet all deadlines and were still not helped. This has changed how I view the political landscape and though I still am supportive of most of this Administrations efforts and the ACA in general I am incredibly disappointed in both Democrats and Republicans for how this is working - or rather - not working.

Had we known this would happen we would have made different choices in how we approached this and when we left our former plan. We only left our old plan thinking we could get covered under the new ACA. And now it's too late to get back on that old plan. We will be uninsured now for a month - which seems to be the opposite of what the ACA was designed to do. I don't believe it was designed to make people uninsured.

Curious if others are having a similar problem or if we're just an odd edge case.
