    More from graceallegro

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     graceallegro didn't realized she knew the deceased officer Gale Stauffer from a deadly bank robbery in Tupelo, Mississippi, until she saw his photograph after the shooting. The elementary music teacher says she knows the officer's mother Debbie Brandenberg really well, and she has meet Officer Stauffer several times before the shooting on the occasions when he helped out as a crossing guard at her school. 'Our entire town is grieving. Tupelo is a small city. My heart is breaking for Debbie,' she said. She was not able to attend Officer Stauffer's funeral, but was there in person to see the procession that was organized on his behalf. 'Almost the entire city of Tupelo lined the streets for the procession afterwards, and I was able to secure a spot. I lost count after 205 police cars, 16 motorcycles,' she said. She hopes that the shooter is caught and brought to justice. 'Somebody somewhere knows something,' she said. You can read more about the story on

On Dec. 23rd. two Tupelo, MS policemen were gunned down in heavy holiday traffic after a bank robbery. One, Sgt. Gale Stauffer, died at the scene in front of dozens of citizens he died protecting. The other remains in the hospital. Their heroic actions undoubtedly saved many citizens that day. Gale is an Afghanistan vet and leaves two small children. Our small city has never lost a police officer in the line of duty. PLEASE, CNN, feature the FBIs wanted release more prominently- maybe Anderson Cooper could do something. SOMEBODY knows something. Area businesses have donated $152.000 reward money and it's growing. Thank you.

ADDENDUM:  The FBI has just connected this bank robbery with a bank robbery in Atlanta earlier the same day  The reward has been increased to $202, 500.
