NEIGHBORHOOD KEEPS THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT...AMID SUMMER TEMPS

It may seem a bit disingenuous to put out all the Christmas trimmings of snow, Santa and yuletide cheer when the sun is beating down on your winter display and the thermometer says it 76 degrees.

But the San Diego neighborhood of Point Loma, an older, prosperous part of the city with many old money families likes to decorate it's street lights during the holidays. Driving along many of the streets that overlook the city's downtown skyline, it is amazing to see the effort put into the festive finery. I took some pictures on Christmas Eve, when the weather was sultry but Santa was in the hood...I saw him myself perched in a Point Loma cactus garden!
