New Mexico Colonel, Aide-de-Camp Commission for Earl Reginald Stevenson
Colonel Aide-de-Camp is an honorary title traditionally bestowed by a governor as a friendly gesture to personal friends, political allies, community activists and others a governor — or acting governor — deems worth honoring.
Stevenson is a member of Mensa and he was recently commissioned by the Governors of Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama and Texas. He holds full Colonel commissions in those states including a Texas Navy Admiral commission from the Governor of Texas, Rick Perry. The Tennessee Colonel commission is considered equivalent to an actual military commission and the recipient is commissioned as full Colonel.
He is also a close friend of actor Johnny Depp and is a direct descendant of John Stevenson, one of the first settlers at Jamestown, Virginia. John Stevenson arrived with Captain John Smith.
Stevenson was recently nominated for The Order of the British Empire to be bestowed by Her Majesty, The Queen.
Stevenson is also a well-known friend of the late David Carradine and Jan-Michael Vincent. Stevenson also holds a coveted Kukkiwon 4th Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo.
