Corruptions in High Places Is the Defect of Indian Democracy

The 28th December of the year 2013, is a remarkable day in the political history of modern India. On this day the leader of Am Admi Party (AAP), Mr, Arbind Kejriwal swears as Chief minister of Delhi State. In the recent election Mr. Kejrwal ‘s newly formed party, defeating many a stalwart candidates of two established parties ,including National Congress Party and Bharatiya Janata Party , have bagged 28 Assembly seats out of 70 members ‘ Assembly house. Though B.J.P has got 32 that party didn’t dare to form the government, with their single simple majority. The ruling congress party got only 8 and others got 2 seats only. It is very amazing that the symbol of brooms for sweeping corruptions from the high places of Indian administration has stirred the people’s mind and they have thrown away the Congress in hatred and anger .
The name Am Admi Party is in Hindi language and in English the meaning is” The party of common persons “.People are really upset with the tall talk of dishonest politicians. Since after independence of 1947, all these traditional parties have been befooling the common voters with false assurances of giving corruption free administration with a view to accomplishing development in all respect. But there remained a gulf of differences between pre-election assurances and post-election corruption . People’s demands are nipped in to the bud by the goons of the political parties. Goons or mafias of ruling parties enjoy the money of different welfare schemes for the earmarked for the help pf the helpless. All mafia of the existing political parties are always threatening common citizens with dire consequences. They are misusing power for exploiting the interest of the common . The stalwarts, including Mrs. Shila Dixit, Ex-C.M. of congress Party were defeated with huge margin of votes. APP bagged 28 Assembly Seats out of 70 members ‘ Delhi state.
One day a hungry boy of 9 yrs. dared to pick a note of Rs. 10/- from a millionaire ,standing by the side of his parked car, near a park of Central Delhi. The boy being desperate to flee was running hardest along the pavement of Conaught Palace of New Delhi. The boy stepping with little legs tried his best but failed. At the shouting of the man some passers by chasing caught him and handed him to that millionaire leader, Within a twinkle the man slapped brutally on the soft cheek of this mal-nutritious boy. He fell on the stone slab and his head was bleeding profusely. Very sad incident it was but such atrocity is occurring every moment in some parts of India. The poor boy cried bitterly. Sobbingly he uttered “ Mujhe chhordo, matajike lie dawai kharid karenge. Unki bohut bukhar ’ Meaning of the phrase is “ Please leave me, my mother is very ill. She is having high fever. I’ll purchase medicine for her” The millionaire rough faced fat man couldn’t understand the humanitarian appeal of this little boy. He didn’t show mercy for this street dwelling poor mother’s little son. On the contrary blaming with the term” A thief, an idiot” he began to beat the boy black and white till he got senseless. What a democracy , Indian people have had !
It is the irony of poor people’s fate that for exploitation by the landlords or industrialists, a great number of good people are being compelled to live in slums or on pavements of different city roads, They have no warm clothes in chilly cold, nor have they shelter to escape scorching sun in the summer. Though in every budget billions of money is allocated under different heads of welfare schemes , the amount is plundered by the ministers, bureaucrats in league with mafias and goons. Here the brute neta in other word a political leader is a big promoters cum MLA of Delhi state. It is heard that he used his political power to get a loan of multi crores of rupees from a local bank, violating all the bank ‘s rules for granting loan. Since the Finance minister instructed the Bank manager to grant the multi crore of loans to lead the bank to face bankruptcy.
What a social picture India is having during last 66 years since after independence ! The political criminals blame poor little boy as “Thief, antisocial’ while the ministers or MP or MLA like this goon leader are plundering crores of Govt. money. The ministers like A. Raja, Suresh Kalmadi Paban , Bansal and others have looted millions of crores of rupees from different ministerial posts and kept deposited in Swiss Bank. 2 G. Spectrum scam, Common wealth scam and Railway bribes scam have come to light recently. Earlier in Bofor Gun deal, Coffin scam , Coal distribution scam were high lighted. Every time inquiry commission calmed situation but no inquiry commission submitted report to punish the guilty minister. Like federal government many a cases of corruption in states have been exposed without punishment to any culprit.. Laluprasad, Mulayam, Mayaboti also indulged in corruption in administration. The top bureaucrat, like IAS, IPS have become skilful to run corrupt culture for sharing bribe money with the ministers. The CBI and other investigating organization belong to the control of Prime minister and he is misusing
Anna Hajare along with Arbind Kejriwal started fast to mobilize people against corruption. Though thousands people shared this civic movement demanded for passing strong Lokpal , the bill for central ministers’ punishment and Lokayuk for state ministers’ punishment for corruption. But in later part Mr. Arbind Kejriwal formed a new part “AAP” and took part in Delhi Assembly election. Now this new party has started journey with new hope of fair democracy by sweeping with broom the years long corruption. Though the success will depend on future course of action , it is very clear that the broom is necessary to remove the defect of Indian democracy.
