Minimum wage & Ontario - Canada.
With perhaps no changes likely to happen in 2014 as well, as the last time was the year 2010 when this issue was addressed. Much has been said about this issue but our Ontario lawmakers in general (all political parties) have failed till date to come up with a plan and make this issue an important one. Rather they would take the age old route of blaming each other and playing politics only along party lines. But for the real betterment of the people their views were and are “we shall see when we get in power” or “if we are in power we have other priorities to deal with first”.
Prices of all day to day commodities starting from gas to milk have risen many a times since 2010, how do these so called concerned leaders of ours want an average family to survive when everything else goes up other than the families collective income? This sure beats me but all and I do repeat that all have simply decided to look the other way and as usual hoodwink the real issue or issues. But on the other hand their perks and benefits need to be discussed and addressed on a regular base.
No doubt the public interest and faith our politicians are at its lowest level and voter turnout percentage in elections has been shrinking. But do our politicians really care for sure at the provincial level I would say “no “. Us day to day common folks have to unite at least on issues that affect us directly, as issues/problem don’t (ever) discriminate but we humans do.
I have not lost all hope but I don’t even see it happening anytime soon either. Till then the bottom line is they rule us on our money and let us suffer as they enjoy, and to some extent we are equally responsible for it.
All I wish and pray is that 2014 will bring some relief to the already suffering i.e. we the day to day working families, who usually are taken for granted especially by our ruling elite.
