    Your New Year's Eve celebrations

    Early NYE celebration in Edinburgh

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     CNN's Patricia DiCarlo braved the cold in Edinburgh, Scotland, to walk in a torchlight procession to celebrate the night before New Year’s Eve, which is known as of Hogmanay. “Roads are blocked off and traditional and modern music is blared through loudspeakers along the route. Revelers pay £10 for a wax and linen torch, and the chance to celebrate 2014 a little bit early,” she said.

In Edinburgh they celebrate Hogmanay, and despite truly frigid temperatures, the city holds a massive torchlight procession with tens of thousands of participants on the night before New Year's Eve. Roads are blocked off and traditional and modern music is blared through loudspeakers along the route. Revelers pay £10 for a wax and linen torch, and the chance to celebrate 2014 a little bit early. The fun continues on the 31st with a huge street party. Stand by for pictures from that celebration.
