The Cross-Dressers on New Year's Day

The original story published on GMA News Online Network:

The Aguman Sanduk ( Fellowship of the Laddle) where the males cross-dress to participate in a parade is being observed during the New Year's Day in a certain town in Pampanga, Philippines called Minalin. The tradition, as what the old people say started in the early 1930's when the town suffered a massive drought and loss.

A group of people wearing make up and casual female dress who loves to cook, the old folks said around 10 of them set their tables in front of the parish church and started cooking congee to feed the people. What is interesting about this was that they were all male which made the people laugh and forgot about their woes and despair. Since then, the event became annually participated by all the 15 barrios of the town.
