CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Paramaribo, Suriname, has an explosive way of celebrating the new year. The South American town shoots off loads of firecrackers in a local tradition called “pagarra estafette,” says photographer Ingrid Moesan. She took her out-of-town friends to see why New Year’s Eve is the “best day of the year.”
    - zdan, CNN iReport producer

Diana Daz who is visiting from LA says "As you can see I brought in the New year looking down on the madness, it was fun, but I do not have to be in the crowd. Had a great day with our friend Ingrid Moesan ended up after a lovely dinner, watched the amazing fireworks and then home in bed."
