    Blizzard Conditions in Maine

Perhaps foolishly, I braved the elements as the last light of day fell over Garrison Cove this evening. The temperature was -2F, the wind around 30 mph, along with heavy snow. This created the most dramatic ocean conditions I've ever witnessed. A heavy sea smoke billowed off the salt water, buffeted along by the wind. This created times of zero visibility, along with times when the wind scoured away the snow and mist to perfectly reveal my surroundings. I had the right clothing on, and didn't feel like I was in danger by being outside, but the conditions would have been life threatening for anyone stranded without extreme cold weather gear.
