    Winter storm

A major snowstorm is sweeping across the Midwest and Northeast, creating treacherous travel conditions for millions in Chicago, Indianapolis, Detroit and Cleveland.
The worst of the storm will arrive overnight for the Northeast, bringing blizzard conditions from Boston to New York with wind gusts as high as 50 mph.
In some locations, snow will fall at a rate of 2 inches per hour.
Drivers can expect slowed travel as blowing and drifting of snow occurs across major roadways, such as I-90 and I-95, and visibility lowers.
The storm also has the potential to cause flight delays in major travel hubs including Boston-Logan International, La Guardia International and JFK International airports.

10:05 p.m. EST Thursday: 21 inches in Boxford, Mass., National Weather Service spotter reports.
9:35 p.m. EST Thursday: Right now in Boston, Mass., AccuWeather.com RealFeel® is -24 degrees. "Temperatures are going to go down near zero as heavy snow continues to fall," AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Edwards said. "AccuWeather.com RealFeel® could be down to between -30 and -35 degrees by daybreak."
8:35 p.m. EST Thursday: Multiple accidents reported along I-90 New York State Thruway outside Utica, N.Y. Roads in the area are snow-covered with some icy patches, according to the New York Department of Transportation.
8:20 p.m. EST Thursday: The New York City Department of Transportation announced that the Long Island Expressway and the New York State Thruway from New York City to Albany, will be closed from midnight Thursday until 5 a.m. EST Friday due to inclement weather.
8:15 p.m. EST Thursday: New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announces that the Long Island Rail Road and the Metro-North Rail Road will operate on weekend schedules starting Friday due to the storm.
