Helpless Christians of Pakistan.
Meet Kashmala the young girl from Peshawar – Pakistan, a devoted Christian who went to pray one fine day to a Church in her native city. That very day her life was changed, when twin bomb blasts went off and blew the Church, which left more than 80 people dead and over 200 injured. She herself has one of her legs amputated due to medical negligence. But this news is perhaps no news in comparison to what is and all along has been happening to minorities in Pakistan. Just to update my readers till date no one has been caught and justice in cases like these has never ever been served.
Helpless Christians/minorities of this lawless land often look towards the western countries, but often not very strong reaction or statements have ever surfaced in reference to issues like these.
I do applaud some cases where countries like Canada have stepped up and given refuge, example is the case of Ramsha Masih the falsely accused kid by a nasty Muslim cleric who later was freed by Pakistani courts on grounds of lack of evidence. And now in Kashmala's case the Government of Australia am told has stepped up and are willing to offer treatment to this kid on humanitarian grounds.
My issue is that when these governments know how minorities are treated on a day to day base (in mostly all Muslim countries) why don't they openly condemn? Why just mild often sugar-coated statements? Why no firm reaction?
This all beats me, but till we create real awareness of this issue, we thank the Australian and the Canadian governments for at least been compassionate and acting as true leaders.
