Sunday Snow Storm in the Cornfield

My life partner, Iohn aka tatboi43 here on iReport, had to be at work at Ryan's at 6 a.m. today. US 41 is eight blocks west of Mark's Den. It is a straight shot up the highway 10 miles to Ryan's on the south edge of Terre Haute. Iohn made it to work without incident, but texted that the 41 was very slick. The snow began to fall as he drove in to work.

Through the day, Iohn has been sending pictures of the area around Ryan's including a super Wal-Mart behind the restaurant and a strip mall to the south including a few other restaurants such as Chili's which is seen in one of the pictures. As you can see, the parking lot of Ryan's was virtually vacant for breakfast this morning as is the strip mall. Later in the day Wal-Mart's lot began to fill with a few brave, but fool-hardy souls.

Iohn said people are getting stuck in all the parking lots. It is expected that Ryan's will be closing early, perhaps 4 p.m, maybe sooner. Other businesses in the area are sure to follow suit.

Will upload another report if or when more pictures come in from Iohn. Vigo County has declared a snow emergency. Only emergency vehicles allowed on the roads. Our county of Sullivan is sure to follow suit. Stores and restaurants are closing left and right.
