    More from k3vsDad

Sunday Snow Storm in the Cornfield Part 2

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     k3vsDad says it's freezing in Farmersburg, Indiana. His partner photographed the icy landscape outside their home in the early evening of January 5. He says roads are slick, hazardous and snow covered right now and temperatures plunged down to -9 degrees. 'This is one of the coldest winters I have ever experienced. So far this season we have had more snow and snow fall than we have had in years,' he said. 'However, none of this compares to the blizzards of 1977 and 1978. Now that winter was bad.'
    - Jareen, CNN iReport producer

Ryan's closed at 2 p.m. and sent Iohn home. US 41, a four-lane highway, is reduced to one lane in both directions as can be seen in the first two pictures.

Iohn made it home safe and sound, but did get the van stuck trying to back into our driveway and under the carport. That was fun! NOT!

He captured a few more images around Farmersburg as well. But, he's in for the night.

The mercury hovered around the freezing mark most of the day, but the thermometers are now seeing the red link sink fast. The wind has picked up and steady at 22 mph out of the north, northwest.

Real temp is expected to dip to around -13 tonight with wind chills over the next two days of -25 to -40.

Thanks to Iohn aka tatboi43 for doing the heavy lifting. I have been stuck inside Mark's Den for over a week now due to the weather. With my lung condition, I will be a captive for the duration.
