How Fire Arms Are Proliferated In Nigeria

The Bishop of St Catherin’s Cathedral Lafia Nasarawa State, Bishop Mathew Ishaya Audu has observed that small arms have easily found their way into the Country due to the porous nature of the Country’s borders.
He therefore called on the Federal Government to take urgent steps towards checking the proliferation of small arms in the Country.
Bishop Ishaya Audu made the appeal during the New Year Church Service attended by the Nigerian Minister of Information and Supervising Minister of Defense Labaran Maku.
He stressed that unless the Nigerian Government takes practical steps to mop up arms in many Nigerian homes, unpatriotic Nigerians would use them to destroy the Country.
In his speech the Minister of Information Mr. Labaran Maku assured the Bishop that Federal Government would do everything possible to ensure that peace reigns in the Country and thanked Nigerians for their continued prayers and support for the present administration.
Mr. Maku called on Nigerians to be law abiding and God fearing in all they do.
