    Aberaeron Harbour Flood Alert

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     iReporter HarryWales shot this video of high tide waters in the Welsh seaside resort town of Aberaeron Monday. The UK is experiencing severe flooding, with England's southern and western coasts particularly badly hit.
    - sarahbrowngb, CNN iReport producer

Aberaeron is a coastal town about nine miles to the south of Aberystwyth where over the weekend, thanks in combination to exceedingly high tides and a storm surge, some 200 metres of promenade was destroyed. Aberaeron has only suffered a tiny amount of flooding in comparison but there is still an official flood alert in place for the whole of the coast.

This vide was taken on the morning of January 6th 2014 at around the time that high tide was forecast to occur and as Aberaeron's harbour is a tidal harbour you can see how full it is and how close to flooding it was. As of 1410 GMT on January 6th 2014, no flooding has been reported.

I wish to assure not only CNN International, but also Dyfed Powys Police, the Mid and West Wales Fire Service, Hywel Dda Health Authority and the Ceredigion branch of the Lifeboat Association that this video was filmed in complete safety and that at no point was my life in danger or other people endangered.
