Local Organizations Come Together to Share the Love in Camden, NJ - Three King's Day
Below is our Thank You to the folks who brought ALL of this together and a few photos from the day. We are proud to have been a part of seeing these two organizations work side by side, and are proud that JORDAN (daughter of one of our staff people) has shown such determination and leadership. She did an AWESOME JOB! Thanks, Jordan!
Jordan, Students of EAST IN ACTION, Carmen, Angel, and all PRUP Staff,
In this day and age when we are continually bombarded by media, information, and activity it is such a noble thing to be able to plug into our human center - compassion - and open our hearts to others. When I left the THREE KINGS DAY celebration my heart was lighter knowing that this large group of people had worked together to provide some joy and memories to a collection of neighbors who gathered together to celebrate not just a holiday, but a moment of tender compassion on the sea of our lives.
I am astounded at the volume of gifts that were gathered by EAST IN ACTION and that each one was wrapped. I am amazed to have seen two communities that had never met come together to share the love - something that is a crystallization of what it means to be a human. I am grateful for the reception and program developed by PRUP. Thank you for allowing me the good pleasure to be transformed by your lives and loving.
The countless hours that you all spent pulling all of this together may seem lost and behind you now, but that is not true - it is not the case. Those countless hours, plans, and efforts have all come together and have changed you. All of that has become a confluence of compassion and will go with you all through your days and effect the person you are and the person you will become. Acts of kindness make us new people; pliable and sensitive people.
I am honored to have met you all, had the chance to introduce you, and to have been a part of that bringing together of human kindness. May your year be filled with blessings and joy as you remember the person you allowed yourself to become - on and because of the THREE KINGS DAY celebration. This is the greatest gift I know!!!
