    Get rid of the scale

What I do about weight issues in my home with two girls. One is 14 and one is 10. I have gotten rid of the scale. I did it about 5 years ago. I caught my oldest on the scale all the time complaining she was fat because she weighed more than the other children. She was to young to understand her height was a factor. She was not fat just very tall for her age. I didn't want my girls feeling the need to match a number on a scale so I got rid of it and told them if they feel good and healthy that is what matters. We eat all our favorite foods in moderation and I have not had weight issues with them that other parents have. Getting rid of a scale along with regular play and walks outside is the best way to help a positive body image. I have added a few pictures.
