Spectacular year end sunset in St. Kitts

As I was driving down the Peninsula in St. Kitts, beach hopping along the way. I saw a spectacular sunset off the Carambola beach club. In the scene, nature had displayed colors that even an imaginative artist would not have thought of. The reflection of the sunset in the water, the distant sail boat and absence of any humans around made for an image that will be etched in my mind and I chose this as the best picture of 2013 out of the over 5000 images that I had captured during the year across 4 continents. There is a certain sense of pleasure and sadness that I sunset gives. Pleasure that another day of your life has gone by and that you are still alive to live for another day and a sadness that a day less is left ti live and when the sunrise comes there is a new responsibility to make the best of the new day. Since I found this to be my best picture, I asked a good amateur photographer what he thought about and he said it was good one and so it became my calendar picture and the complimentary calendar is shared with whoever wants to print it out and use it as a 2014 year ahead image. I hope the image warms up those who are currently weathering a severe winter. The image also marked the end of my stay in the Island and return to the American winter.
