CVS Pharmacy in Kentwood, MI sparks fire.

KENTWOOD, MI (WZZM ABC) - A fire broke out at a CVS Pharmacy on Eastern Avenue in Kentwood, MI. The fire broke around 6PM. Fire crews arrived on the scene within seconds of the fire alarms going off.
Witnesses report seeing flames coming out of the roof with heavy smoke. A witness reports smoke so heavy that traffic was at a standstill on 52nd street and Eastern. "I didn't know if the light was red or green, I couldn't even see a car in front of me.

Fire crews battled the fire for hours and got it under control. The freezing temperatures Michigan was experiencing didn't make fighting the fire any easier. The fire department called other local fire houses to assist in the blaze. It was so cold the crews had to take shifts in the building to work on the burning structure.

It is unknown right now what caused the fire.

CVS has transferred patients presccriptions to another pharmacy.
