Quinnes Parker Jr: Asking His Dad For Help
This by far is one of my favorite interviews. This young man is so talented and special. He goes by the name of Quinnes Parker, Jr also known as “Lil Q”. His father Quinnes Parker is a member of the R&B group 112. I had so much fun talking to Quinnes Jr about his debut book “ Ask My Dad…He Can Help”. The book is about Quiness getting his father to help out the kids of the neighborhood. The book started with Qunnies helping out with sharing in school. He wanted to take it to the next level and write his book.
As I was speaking to Lil Q as some call him, he said he likes to share his dad with friends. I asked Lil Q, “ What made you want to involve your day in the story?” He said in the cutest and most professional way, “ I have the best dad in the world.” I couldn’t help but smile because I feel my father is the best too. We both shared a laugh. “ Ask My Dad…He Can Help” is one of the first installments of “ The Adventures of Lil Q.” This young man is excited about this book that’s scheduled to come out in August. I must say that I’m excited too!
With this young star on the rise, I asked Lil Q if he was going to do book signings at stores. He said, “ Yes, Ma’am. I will be signing my books for people. I also asked him what was he going to sign in his book besides his name. Lil Q stated, “ I’m going to sign, “ Thank you so much for your love and support.” I was amazed at how receptive and well spoken he was. He’s also going to have a book signing at his school located 531 Luckiest Street, Atlanta, GA, 30313. He’s very excited to make new friends and be able to take pictures and sign his book for his friends. Lil Q also told me that for his second book he was going to write a story about homeless people and give back to them. What an honorable young man. I have so much respect for Lil Q because he puts his things aside to help other people.
We didn’t just discuss his book. I had to get down to the fun stuff with Lil Q. We talked about playing games, drawing, and going to amusement parks. Lil Q says, “ I love going to the amusement parks and riding the roller coaster and playing other games.” I hated to admit it but I don’t ride the roller coasters I’m scared. We did laugh together we both realized that we drew “stick figures” as art. “ I’m not that good at drawing”, Lil Q says. I agree with Lil Q,, we are writers we have a different kind of art!
Quinnes Daymond Parker, Jr. is a 4th grader at Centennial Place Elementary School where “ Smart” is the new “ Cool”. The principal is Ms. Shelton and the Assistant Principal is Ms. Rally. Lil Q says he really likes his school and has a lot of friends. This interview really touched my heart because this remarkable kid has a good heart and is willing to help others through his book and peers. This book will definitely be a good read for the bed time and reading time at houses and schools through out the world. I won’t be surprised if I see many teachers order it. I know I’m getting my copy. The book release date is 8/4/2013.
