    Making a Lifesaving Impact

It may behoove you to know that January is National Volunteer Blood Donor Month. According to the American Red Cross, the turnout at the blood donation stations during January tends to be very low. Perhaps this is due to just having emerged from a hectic holiday season, or perhaps it is due to just not feeling enough warmth in the heart to brave the cold weather and go donate. At any rate, the decline in blood donations at this time is incredibly unfortunate, and we need to do something to change that. After all, the folks needing this blood to live are our family members, our neighbors, our coworkers, our friends. That's why, I'm asking healthy, able, and eligible individuals to consider giving the gift of blood. You may erroneously think that one donation isn't all that critical, but be assured, EVERYTHING HELPS. Together, we can make a real, vital, and lifesaving impact.
