    Aurora falls into a forest

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Kalalau123 told me, 'I have never seen such intense color nor the Aurora penetrate to the ground in my 62 years of life in Northern Canada.'
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

The Aurora Borealis was so thick, so dense that it fell from the sky into a forest in Northern Alberta.
No photo shop here, just the real deal.
Have seen it hundreds of times in my life but never so pronounced that the radiation actually hit the ground and lit through and behind the forest
The big dipper and Orion are in the stars in the photo.

Amazed that this could even happen. The colors were incredible, mauve and pink and emerald. And yet it is different where ever you see it. But somehow you know you have really seen something when it is so bright you see your shadow on the snow from it in -30 below weather.
