My Grandma, Margaret, travelled with her friends to Cuba in 2011 and took a ride in one of the many classic cars which acts as a taxi for tourists. The car picked up guests from the hotel lobby, and drove them to the town centre of Varadero. The alternative taxi proved popular with tourists but my Grandma says the open-top bus made for a more exciting journey, "you had to duck below the low palm trees which lined the side of the road!" Planning to return to Cuba later this year, my Grandma admits that the unusual classic car taxi journeys will be missed.
