Ice jam causes damage to covered bridge

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     thepizzaman, a longtime resident of Belvidere, Vermont, says he’s never seen an ice jam on the Lamoille River rise so high – the ice came up over the river bank and closed a road he uses daily. He surveyed the damage to the Morgan Covered Bridge on Sunday. “I was pretty bummed to see the damage to the covered bridge because I use this bridge to get to and from my house every day,” he said. See his video of the damage.

These are some photos of an ice jam that caused damage to the Morgan covered bridge in Belvidere, Vermont. The ice reached the bottom of the bridge and ripped some of the side boards off. The ice also went over the river banks and onto the road closing the road. The Morgan bridge spans the north branch of the Lamoille River.
