    Lohri festival in full fervour with resonating beats and kites high

    Resonating Dhol beats, latest numbers in full volumes and sky flooded with kite competitions, Bhangras on roof tops, bonfire at night and relatives and friends singing 'Sundar Mundariye' means Punjabis celebrating Lohri festival.

    "Lohri means the beginning of auspicious days celebrated to shower the blessing to the new born babies" remarked Mrs.Usha Sud who is rejoicing the first Lohri of her Grandson Shaurya. "We are very thankful to God for blessing us with a lovely daughter and a son, Its lohri time for both of them" said a couple Navdeep Sood & Shally Sood who are celebrating first lohri of their son.

    Lohri means arrival of warmer season and fields to flourish with Rabi crops. The kite competition with everyone trying to cut maximum kites from their rooftops is the main attraction of the day. The government has banned chinese plastic kite string as it is a cause of major accidents to people and birds during winters.
