I watch CNN all the time, I love seeing the good stuff about bus drivers pulling over to save a woman from committing suicide or soldiers surprising their loved ones but I am filled with fear when I see stories like those of Kendrick Johnson and Trayvon Martin. My heart breaks for those families and what I didn't know is that one of those stories is close to my home. I am from Pittsburgh Pa and an African American man in my community fell through the cracks of the judicial system. His name is Leon Ford. Why I said these stories scare me is because I have a 5 year old African American son, I am so afraid he too become victim of our judicial system do to the pigment of his skin. The only difference between Ford and Johnson or Martin is that although the gun shots left him paralyzed from the waist down, they did not affect his ability to tell his tale and fight for justice. His story needs to be heard, to be told, so that my son and our next generation do not have to live in fear and so these events never happen again. This link will take you to his story through his words http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Z05jO2GgyY#t=19 he is on instagram @eastsideleevi_ or twitter @eastsideleevi
