    5 Effortless Ways to Lose 10 Pounds by Valentine's Day!

     

    In an effort to lose weight this year, and to FINALLY complete one of my New Year's resolutions, I went on a hunt for the best ways to lose weight quickly. I came across a lot of articles saying I just needed to eat a lot less food and while that is true, there are other contributing factors that play a large role in weight loss. Here are the top 5 ways I've found to lose at least 10 pounds by Valentine's Day:

     

    1) Drink More Water
    Drinking water helps transport the proper nutrients to your entire body. You should be drinking at least 8 cups of water a day. While this seems hard to do, try drinking 1 cup of water every 1 to 1.5 hours of the day. Trust me, you will feel more energized and awake by doing this one thing.

     

    2) Get a Better Night Sleep
    I know a lot of people claim that you should be getting at least 8 hours of sleep. While this may be needed for some people, many individuals can get away with less hours because they're getting a better quality sleep. I would rather have 5 hours of pure sleep with no interruptions than to lay in bed for 8 hours while having to go to the bathroom or hearing noises.

     

    3) Eat the Right Kinds of Foods
    We all know that diet plays a large role in weight loss (about 65%) so by eating the right types of foods while consuming less than you burn is the best way to lose weight fast. Try eating more whole grains, complex carbohydrates (sweet potatoes, brown rice, whole wheat pastas) and less simple sugars (sodas, white flour/processed foods, candy, etc). A diet high in fibrous foods such as green leafy vegetables and fruits will help you lose weight fast. These foods are low in calories and will help you feel full longer!

     

    4) Exercise Daily for a Minimum of 45 Minutes
    I know this seems like common sense but many people don't exercise at all and that is hurting their ability to lose weight. Try going for a walk, lifting weights, or swimming for 45 minutes every day and you'll lose weight.

     

    5) Relax
    Stress makes you fat. Find ways to relax such as doing yoga, running, taking a bath, or reading a good book.
