    Havana, Cuba
This iReport is part of an assignment:
    Cuba’s vintage cars

    Cuban Time Machines

Visiting Havana is like going back in time. Classic cars are in daily use and belching fumes just like the 1950s. Not all are in mint condition.  And since there is only one car for every 300 Cubans, the fact that these classics are still on the road after all these years is amazing. It's not hard to find real beauties, but it's the wrecks that represent the other side of Cuba. The buildings of Havana are slowly crumbling from over fifty years of neglect as time has stopped for most of them as well.  Restoration, be it cars or buildings, will be the order of the day for many years to come.
