Brooksville University Introducing Skill Grids to Improve the Employment Process
Brooksville University has recently introduced Skill Grids. These are a more detailed version of the SWOT analysis. The whole point of the Skill Grid is to identify the various skills developed in the student after he or she completes a course or assignment. Each assignment a teacher gives out has a set of predetermined skills that should be developed in the student as the task is completed (e.g. evaluation skills, communication, precision, decision-making, etc). Once the assignment is submitted for assessment, the teacher gives a score that reflects the extent to which the particular skill has been developed. Every program at Brooksville University aims not only to educate but polish up the students’ competencies as well.
The student gathers his or her Skill Grid scores over the course of his or her studies. Once every month these are reviewed by the experts of the University’s Career Center, who guide the students as to what their scores mean and how they can improve or maintain them. The career consultants try to align the skill level with the current requirements of recruiters over the world so that students know where they stand in terms of employ-ability. This system has been developed through close coordination with partner companies and affiliates of Brooksville University so that the results are accurate and reflects ongoing industry trends. Using the Skill Grid, students stand better chances of being employed on the basis of their merit and skill set. The University is always trying to provide the best to its students and this practice is just one of the many ways it fulfills its promise of quality education.
