    Ukrainian "Arab Spring" ?

     

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Journalists Nikita Mekenzin and Oleksandr Nazarov, who work for an Internet TV station in Ukraine called Hromadske TV, captured a tense standoff between protesters and police in Kiev, Ukraine, yesterday. This footage shows protesters throwing stones and Molotov cocktails and a bus that is engulfed in flames. Both sides accused each other of attacks during the large demonstration, in which both protesters and police sustained injuries. Read more about this story on CNN.

    KIEV, UKRAINE - JANUARY 19, CNN iReport - Police clashes with protesters in Kiev.

     

    Peaceful protest in Kiev turned into clashes with a police. The opposition doesn’t control protesters anymore. Eyewitnesses say that the police used stun grenades, tear gas and water cannons. The protesters are throwing stones and "Molotov cocktails" at the police.

     

    A few days ago, Foreign Affairs Committee of the U.S. Senate discussed possible sanctions against Ukrainian officials.
