My first experience travelling alone
On February 22, I set off for London. The flight took about 13 hours, but I did not feel bored because I befriended the man sitting next to me. He is from Hong Kong and often went to London for work. We talked about many things and he recommended some good places in London to me. When we arrived in London, he said, “Your English is good, so you should try to speak English with Londoners. It will be a good experience for you. Have a great trip.” I was so glad, and we said goodbye.
The next day, in London, I enjoyed shopping and sightseeing. London’s cityscape is so great, and there are many kinds of people. When I walked around Big Ben, a girl asked me to take a photo of her. I granted her requests, and tried speaking with her. Her name is Angelina and she is the same age as me. We hit it off right away and went sightseeing together. We went to Buckingham Palace, The Tower of London, The London Eye, and a flea market. We had a great time. She spoke English slowly for me, so I could enjoy the conversations with her. We spent an entire day together before saying goodbye. I spent other days alone but still enjoyed myself. My first time travelling alone was helped by kind people.
On February 28, I returned to Japan. Even now, I keep in contact with the man and the girl. These people are my good friends. Through this trip, I could get confidence in myself and I desire to communicate with foreigners more often. This trip give me great memories and experiences.
