Minnesota Swarm loss to Philadelphia Wings.

Fresh from an 11-10 win against the Philadelphia WIngs in Philadelphia last night, the Minnesota Swarm played their home opener against the Wings at the Xcel Center in St. Paul, MN this afternoon.

Playing in front of a home crowd numbering 8,000, the Swarm was hoping to capitalize on their away win and a cheering home crowd to make it two in a row. However, the Philadelphia Wings got off to an early lead with Garrett Thule's goal 2 minutes into the game, scoring 3 more times to the Swarm's one goal in the first quarter.

Philadelphia kept the pressure on the Swarm throughout the game, and despite great plays by the Swarm, they could not keep up with the relentless attacks oh the Wings, eventually loosing their home opener by a score of 15-8.

The Swarm play their next game on February 1st against the 1-6 Colorado Mammoth in Colorado. Philadelphia plays the 2-2 Vancouver Stealth at home on Feb. 1.
