Do you know Okinawa prefecture? It is located in the northermost part of Japan. Last September, I went there with my friends. Although, we had gone there before on the school trip, we did’nt swim or visit many places individually. So we decided to enjoy Okinawa again in our own style. We made a lot of beautiful memories there. Also, we were touched by the kindness of local people. They welcomed us and talked about Okinawan culture. We went to the Churaumi aquarium[a] which has some enormous whale sharks. We were excited to see the tremendous power of many colorful fishes. We also went to heiwanoishiji[b] which has the names of dead soldiers curved into stone. We thought we should know about the history of world warⅡ[c] because of this oppotunity to go to Okinawa. We walked along the stones and prayed to the soldiers. An elderly man who was alive during the war told us some war stories in front of the stones. We thought about war and peace. After that, we ate agu pork[d] which is local dish at the restaurant located near the ocean. We could see the sun going down while eating gorgeous Okinawan dishes. We had a lovely time there. I will never forget seeing the beautiful sunset from the restaurant with my friends. The next day, we enjoyed swimming in the sea. We could see under water with our goggles because the water was so clear. Even though,[e] we got terrible sunburn, I wanted to swim again. Through this trip, we could relax in the calm atmosphere, so I love Okinawa so much. I will research more about Okinawa to find other wonderful places and food. So, the next trip will be even more amazing and valuable.
