    Luxor Egyptian & European Film Festival 2nd Edition

     

    Yesterday 19th of January 2014, Luxor, the ancient capital of Egypt. witnessed a well-organized launching of the second edition of Luxor Egyptian & European Film Festival.
    Over 200 guests, including international and local filmmakers, artists, media and VIPs, attended the festival from Egypt as well as 18 European countries, participating with 62 Films from France, Norway, Greece, Georgia, Spain, Serbia, Sweden, Russia, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Belgium, Ireland, Germany, Britain, Estonia, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.

     

    Despite the chaotic scene in Egypt lately, the opening was really well-organized, everything has been done a very professional way, that’s because may be for the first time, an Egyptian festival depends on a specialized PR specialists to run this critical issue and not just leave that huge task for armature volunteers.


    Amr Salama’s “Excuse My French” was the opening movie of the festival. The film which is participating in the long feature films’ competition, and it’s about a Coptic boy who pretends to be a Muslim to get along with his colleagues in the school. Casts Kinda Alloush, Hani Adel and the talented child Ahmed Dash.


    Egyptian Actor Nour El Sherif; and the Russian, academy award winner, director Valdimir Menshov were honored during the opening for their lifetime achievement.


    After the opening a dinner party were held in front of Luxor temple for the festival’s guests.
