Winter is cold but beautiful in Finland

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Retired schoolteacher RitvaR captured these beautiful images of frosted trees and snow covered fields around her home in Kempele, Finland, as temperatures plunged well below freezing. "The scenery is like a winter wonderland," she said. "When I walk on the street, I can hear the noise of my boots. I feel alive, again. The cold weather belongs to the life of a Finn."
    - sarahbrowngb, CNN iReport producer

My country, Finland, between Russia and Sweden, is a country of the snow and the cold. The birches around our house are now so beautiful. It is attempting to touch the frost on the trees, e.g. The Siberian firs, the Russian crack willows, but I don´t do it. The dream will vanish. I just take photos.

The blue sky is scattered with the snow diamonds in the cold of -20 C of today. Under the snow there are all the summer´s plants and dreams of a new life which makes the natural circuit of a human life, too.

Last winter we lost our cat under the bushes, called Norwegian bushes. We sadly found the cat dead. It has been ”writing” a blog of life several years, still it does it by the name of Rundgren`s Cat. The dream will go on.

The winter makes the living the same for all the people in Finland and in it´s neighbour countries, especially in the North of Europe, Fennoscandia.
