    Biography of Jean Odileau Deronette

Jean Odileau Deronette was the son of late Clericia Clerisson and Delicier Deronette and was born in Marigot, Jacmel, Haiti in February 8th, 1924. Mr. Deronette was number 4 of 4 children. His mother and father died when Jean O. Deronette was a very young, leaving him behind along with his oldest brother, Leroisaint Deronette and twin siblings. They too, later died and Mr. Deronette was left alone as a young man. Mr Deronette had 3 children from a previous relationship, 2 of which are deceased and now Olene Deronette lives in New York. Mr. Deronette, was a hard working man. He accepted Christ when he was 28 years old. Shortly thereafter he met and fell in love with his lifetime partner Mrs. Marie Olga Jacques. They married and were blessed with 12 wonderful and healthy children consisting of 6 boys and 6 girls and all are in God's vineyard.

Mr. Deronette lived and worked hard in Haiti until the early 1980's. He then traveled to the Dominican Republic, Martinique, and finally settled in Brooklyn, New York in the mid 1980s where he worked a factory with one goal in mind - To bring his wife and 10 children to the United States. While in the US, Mr. Deronette had the desire to continue to multiply the size of his family and in 1988 Mrs. Deronette gave birth totwo more baby girls known as the The Deronette Twins. There as so many profound things to say about Mr. Deronette but what stands out the most is that he was was a devout servant to the the Lord. He will be remembered for his unwavering faith in God, and his daily routine of prayer, bible study, singing, and his love and passion for his family. Mr. Deronette would tell you "Jesus is coming, hang in there " (kimbe fèm, Jean ap vini) travay nap fe pou Jezi Christ (I'm working for the Jezi Christ) , priyez jour et nuit (Pray day and night) ,"luttons nous aurons la victoire car jesus n'est pas loin" (We will have victory, as Jesus is near). Even during his time of sufferance after surviving two strokes that prevented him from speaking he always managed to shout "hallelujah" This is a true testament of his faith. Mr Deronette was a blessing to every one that crossed his path especially to his family. To God be the glory! What a mighty God we serve, peace in the Lord. My father's work and love for God did not and will not go in vain. Because of my father's teachings, The Deronette Family, sings for the Lord and preaches the word of the bible through our songs in which have changed our lives and the lives of so many others in Haitian communities around the world.
