Costigans Continue Mission To Hire More Veterans To Buy Cars
After being featured on Dateline for hiring returning veterans, Mike and Sue Costigan have made it a point to continue to hire as many veterans as possible as Kelly Car Buyer continues to grow. Mike said “As our guys have matured and moved on, we have been terribly proud of being able to help more veterans out in a small way to get back on their feet.” Sue said that the quality of soldier they encounter has been remarkable and “We have yet to hire a veteran that has not become an asset to the company.” Sue went on to say; “We haven’t found a young lady yet that has been all that interested in buying cars, but I’m sure the day will come when we find a gal with the right temperament to talk to customers about buying their used or junk cars every day.”
They are finding that these veterans spend about a year or so buying cars and getting enough confidence that they can now leave their homes and head out again among their peers. Costigan said: “When they start work with us most of these guys have in many cases lost the confidence they once had in the military, but after a few months of becoming successful buying cars every day with KCB, they get their legs back under them and make remarkable transformations. Kelly Car Buyer survives in a team environment and the veterans seem to thrive within it.”
Right now Kelly Car Buyer is looking to interview more veterans in the Chicagoland market. KCB pays cash for junk cars and tries to pick up the cars on the same day when possible. Some of the veterans seem to buy cars easier than others but in most cases, training is the key in the very beginning. It is very hard to train over the phone or the web and unless training happens face to face, it doesn’t seem to work out, says Jim Stuglis the sales and training manager. If interested potential candidates can apply by filling out a form on the www.kellycarbuyer.com website.
