This iReport is part of an assignment:
Immigration Office Shutdown
Early Wednesday I drove to the Samutprakarn Immigration office to apply for an extension of my 30 day visa. I ran into a motorcade of protestors turning into the local tax office to occupy it. About another mile past was the Immigration office already closed in anticipation of the protestors who were already in the parking lot. The protestors have a feeling of merriment and parade like. The police watching over them behind the barbed wire barricade did not appear to be so joyful. There is a feeling in the air that something is about to come to a climax.
