    Waves on Kauai!

You may have heard the weather news about monstrous ocean waves coming to Hawaii - well it is true! On Kauai (northern most island), the waves are hitting 40-50 feet high, which happens only once in ten years. Northside of Oahu get those waves frequently, but not our little island. Our north beaches are closed for safety (no surfing or anything else), but I was able to get a picture of Kalihiwai Beach today (January 22, 2014). Normally this bay is glass calm, but see todays' waves. It is difficult to see how tall the waves are without a surfer to show comparison! Mother Nature is roaring! DrB
