    After The Snow Storm

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     HLeung wanted to show a different side of the snow: the cleanup effort. He snapped these photos of workers clearing sidewalks and streets in Manhattan on Jan. 22. “Cleanup efforts are going well in my opinion. Though some people were complaining in upper Manhattan that it was not fast enough,” he said.

NEW YORK CITY - The snow storm dumped nearly 12 inches of snow in Manhattan and most of the outer boroughs. The snow, which ramped up on Tuesday evening's commute, caused quite the headache for snow removal work and the new New York City mayor.

New Yorkers braved the morning commute even with all of the snow. Times Square was busy as usual with many commuters on the streets.

Plows were out on the street working to move the snow out of the way.
