    Thai military declares coup

    Suthep continues to defy

I was at the intersection of Sukhumvit Road and Soi 8 in Bangkok, adjacent to the NANA BTS station when Anti-government protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban, surrounded by a human chain of bodyguards, marched past. The only visible police presence was a single traffic cop directing traffic. On Day 2 of the Emergency Decree, there are no clear signs that the protesters plan to quit any time soon.
